Wilderness Camping

Paul and I went camping in the Sawtooths near Stanley the last couple days. It was beautiful, but wet! It rained on us on and off for two days. I'd have to say it was not my most favorite camping trip, but I still had fun. We saw elk, deer, and coyotes.
On day two we went for a 2 mile hike (4 miles round trip) up near Redfish Lake. It was nice hike and at the end of the trail was an amazing view of the mountains. Unfortunately, this picture does not do it justice.
I also tried my hand at Dutch Oven cooking. I made homemade chili, which turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself.

Stage One: HOT coals

Stage Two: Keeping stirring

Stage Three: Eat!!!

Gary has recently got into Dutch oven cooking. He has impressed us with some tasty dishes. Maybe you two ought to get together and have a Dutch oven cook-off!

I wish we had the time to go camping. We are trying to figure 1 day to get away for our honeymoon and can't even do that!
Those are sure pretty pic.s! Sounds like fun, and good food always makes a trip great, even when there's rain! :)
