Duck Lake and a deer collide

Paul and I decided to go up past McCall and hike to Duck Lake. It's a short hike; 2 miles round trip. It was pretty and had great views. There were tons of unusual white flowers and crystal clear streams along the way. A bit too many biting bugs at the lake though, OUCH!
While driving back a deer jumped out in front of us! I admit I was just cruising along and not looking for deer. It's was 2:30-3pm; not prime deer jumping across the street time. Luckily, we didn't hit it. The poor, confused deer continued to bounce alongside us as we drove down the road for awhile. Eventually it made its way across the road.

Looks like a great way to spend a Saturday....I wanted to go floating, or go to Yellowstone, or something like that all day today.

First, the place looks beautiful. Second, so scary about the deer but I'm glad you and the deer made it out safe. I saw a deer get hit once, ugh, it was horrible. :(

You're awesome...a 2 mile hike is never just "a short hike" for me. You were basically born outdoors though. :) It sounds like fun.

My mom hit a deer when I was very young, and it totalled the car and killed the deer. She didn't like driving after that. I'm glad you avoided that.
How far past McCall is Duck Lake? Looks like a great place to hike.
