So Barack Obama is going to be sworn in as President tomorrow. I completely appreciate what a historic moment this is in United States history and I understand why it is so important to many people, particularly black Americans, but the crazed-frenzy that is surrounding his inauguration is a little ridiculous. I think it is why out of control, they are saying that a MILLION people are going to be in Washington DC and it's like a week long event with movie stars, rock stars, dinners, balls. It takes away from the importance of the office. It's insane! I think what bothers me the most is that people have all but declared Barack Obama as the greatest president of the 21st century and he hasn't even taken office yet. He may do a good job, but he might not. I am not a fan of his policies so I admit I have reservations, but let's give it him at least a week before we declare him the be all, end all. It's almost scary really the way people just follow him because he's black and young and handsome. I hope for our country's sake he does well.
PS...2 million people showed!
