As I was driving around to find my signs of spring, I came across a pasture with some LARGE steer in it. But at closer glace, one of the steer look different then the others.
That's because he wasn't a steer at all, he was an ELK! He was just hanging out with the cattle in a pasture near Barber Park. You can tell it was a bull elk and his antlers hadn't come in yet. I'm not quiet sure how he got in the pasture, there's a fence all the way around. But I sure it made for nice winter lodgings. (for those wondering how I knew it was a boy, you could see little nubs where the antlers are going to grow)

I like the spring images from below.
And good eye on the elk. I don't know if I would have noticed.
That's pretty neat! i believe I saw something like that on the news. I didn't hear the story, but saw the picture. Thanks for sharing.
Aunt Diane
that's funny. i wouldn't have been able to spot that out probably, especially since there were no antlers. not to mention i wouldn't have been able to tell it was a male vs female.
I like the little birdies on your new layout!
They can probably jump like deer, I bet, maybe that's how he got in, and ya, I couldn't have been able to tell the gender w/o antlers.
That's funny. It would have been cool to see in person.
