Team Cookie Monster

Well before I get to the point of today's post, I have to give a Happy BIRTH Day shout out to Baby Hadley! Kristin and Justin become proud parents in the wee hours this morning. But since it's their exciting news, I will let you read all the details on their blog when they get around to posting them.

Ok back to the point of this post... It has recently come to my attention that Cookie Monster is no longer the cookie monster I knew and loved as a kid...apparently he eats fruits & veggies now too!!! WHAT!!!
Now this may not be news to some, as I hear his dietary change happened a few years ago, but it was sure news to me (I've been out of the Sesame Street loop for awhile).

I guess the decision was made to make Cookie Monster more healthy or something. Well I say FAIL!! His name is COOKIE Monster, he eats cookies, that's what he lives to do! He even has written a catchy a song about it..."C is for cookie, that's good enough for me." C is for carrot just doesn't have the same ring to it!

If Sesame Street really felt the need to introduce veggies to the 3 - 6 year old set, they should have just given Cookie Monster a Veggie Monster friend, not change the essential character makeup of a TV legend. What's next making Oscar the Grouch move into a spiffy new condo!

Long Live COOKIE Monster!!!

My View

Yes, I have a little apartment full of apartment things like apartment grade faucets, fridge, dish washer, carpets, neighbors etc...it gets old sometimes. BUT every spring the water comes back through the nearby canal and I get the BEST view out my kitchen/livingroom window. The ducks and geese come every year and have babies. Birds start chirping in the trees and with the water it ALMOST feels like I have a house an a creek. I love it! And because of the way the apartments sit, I'm the only one with the view : )

Here are pictures of the Canadian Geese and their babies. This year there were 3 sets of parents and almost 30 goslings.
