Ok back to the point of this post... It has recently come to my attention that Cookie Monster is no longer the cookie monster I knew and loved as a kid...apparently he eats fruits & veggies now too!!! WHAT!!!
Now this may not be news to some, as I hear his dietary change happened a few years ago, but it was sure news to me (I've been out of the Sesame Street loop for awhile).
I guess the decision was made to make Cookie Monster more h
ealthy or something. Well I say FAIL!! His name is COOKIE Monster, he eats cookies, that's what he lives to do! He even has written a catchy a song about it..."C is for cookie, that's good enough for me." C is for carrot just doesn't have the same ring to it! 
If Sesame Street really felt the need to introduce veggies to the 3 - 6 year old set, they should have just given Cookie Monster a Veggie Monster friend, not change the essential character makeup of a TV legend. What's next making Oscar the Grouch move into a spiffy new condo!

I agree with you! Things get ruined to make everything politically correct or what not. I was not aware of this because we have not seen Sesame Street in years. It looks like I would be very disappointed to watch nowadays. :(
So I had heard this as well but I'll tell you, he still eats cookies. We've seem some Sesame Street and he has been eating veggies and fruit, and letters, and cookies.
