PN Hawaii: Day 4

Hello ninjaites!! Another day another beautiful sunrise.

I decided I was frustrated in my search for Kali and didn't feel like going on a hunt for her. Instead I spent the first part of the day snorkeling, which has become my favorite island activity. Today's snorkeling adventure was at Shark's Cove and at Turtle Bay. PS...these places are wild areas, no nature preserves here. The pictures really don't do it justice. You think you can better pics, I would like to see you try. See how well you do chasing fast moving fish WHILE fighting the ocean current.

At one point we came upon a school of large fish...think toddler size fish. Thinking...hmmmm...that's a little big for the area, I popped my head above the water and noticed we were a tad further out then we should be and actually heading out to open ocean. Probably not the wisest ninja move, but we made it safely back to shore. Tip for all you would be coral snorkelers...wear something to cover your arms and legs...coral HURTS.

This fish was fast, ninja fast.

After snorkeling thought we'd stop and say hi the honu again.

After cleaning up, we spent the afternoon wandering around the historic North Shore town, Hale'iwa, in our trusty VW bug. Cant you just feel the Aloha spirit.

We came to discover locals are on a campaign to keep "the country, country". Meaning no more hotels, esp in the areas outside of Honolulu and Waikiki. This is what the North Shore looks like and I for one agree...keep it that way.

We ate at Zippy's, a local chain, kinda like Denny's but with Hawaiian food.
That's me with a piece of fried spam...sure was tasty.

The beautiful sunset at Turtle Bay...notice the surfers...that's the North Shore for ya. Hang Ten.
